The 2014 Michigan Free Fishing winter weekend is this Saturday and Sunday, February 15 – 16. You can fish without a fishing license anywhere in Michigan that is open for legally open species. There’s plenty of safe ice, and lots of panfish species, along with most walleye and pike open for fishing.
