Do you use live emerald shiners to fish?

If you are a Michigan angler who uses live emerald shiners to fish, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and The University of Toledo Lake Erie Center would like you to take this survey.
The anonymous survey being conducted by The University of Toledo Lake Erie Center is looking to determine what factors Michigan anglers consider when choosing live baitfish. MDNR Fisheries Division would appreciate the cooperation of Michigan anglers in taking this survey – particularly if you use live emerald shiners as bait.
To take the survey, just visit http://uac.utoledo.edu/uacsurveys/lecmfs.htm. The survey should only take five minutes to complete and all participants will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card.
Some types of baitfish are capable of being infected with viral hemorrhagic septicemia (VHS) and the disease can be spread to many species, including sport fish, in the Great Lakes area. It is anticipated that this survey will help researchers understand the decisions you make to use certified VHS-free or to use not-certified VHS-free live emerald shiners.
